Millennium Shroud
14:24
|
|||
A wavering wind
Sighs feebly
Upon its fell breath
Lies a tarnished message
The endless fields of dust
Bespoke their dreary fate
The towers that seek to stand tall
Like those before them, are swept away
All the churning struggle against ruin
All the tumultuous yearning
For a hollow hope;
The mountains will crumble
And in damning certainty
Those very same winds
Will halt for no cause
Silent are the eyes
Who watch with apathy
The undoing of worlds
Respite will never come
As the tide sweeps away your kingdoms
The emperors of ash
Standing in dire ceremony
Behold once again
Those inexorable fields,
Those distant spires
And stand silent
As the shroud descends
And are forgotten again
The fading wisp dies
And ascends in death's climb
And so, the end of all things,
A glimmer in the sky

The Borrower
10:37
|
|||
A vast serpent drifts
Through a silent sea
In search of its prey
A life-bearing star
Serene and sinless
In ethereal grace
Its swirling form
Encircles the sun
Within its cavernous maw
Our flame is sundered
Darkness takes hold
In a wave of freezing cold
Yet perched atop its smouldering throne
The borrower in profane majesty
Detects the scent of sweet sentient life
And turns to gaze earthward
See the solar traces
Scattered across a black sky
And projected upon it
A serpentine eclipse approaches
Borrower, hollower, soul siphon
In unknowing malice
Eradicates the future
Absorbing all momentum
Reversal of potential
It breaks the threads of time
And drinks of our life's warmth
Our final offering, a gift of mortality
Bleed, drain, weaken, crumble
Deathless wretches cursed to wander
A barren sunless wasteland
Perpetually drowning
In a frozen rain

Withered Years
09:43
|
|||
In the ashen sphere
Laden by phantom weight
The befallen and bygone
Tread midst their trampled fate
Those begrieved seekers
Weep to the hollow fathers
Plead their yearning questions
Wail, in your burden
Your rivers will dry
Wither, and die
And your leavings that remain
Begin to fade thereby
Haughty figures loom
Aloft in tarnished chain
Curators of the wretch
Shepherds midst the gloom
In twilight can oft be seen
A violet twinge
Yonder, in void's stead
Bringing old memory
Imparted unto those fallen
And with it comes
The remembrance of millennia
Served as frail spectres
A shadow, of some long forgotten past
And just as soon begins to fade that light
As does your virtue begin to waste away
Returned to that heedless void
Wherein you dwell indefinitely
Yet still trudge
Your hunched forms
Yet still forlorn
Does your soul continue
Waste away in the waning light
Withered years

Oracular
12:02
|
|||
I have dreamed
In fevered mystic sleep
Of a darkness beyond the material
I hear old whispers speak
Of the oracles' lonely peak
Where the beacon of black wisdom burns
I know not why
I am drawn inexorably
Toward the deserts and the plains
To seek some profane truth
I beg release
From this accursed destiny
And I'm answered only by wind
Carried in dream
Upon those vile winds
My translucent form
In twilight's embrace
Traverses the threshold
Atop the dire pillar
Cloaked in a clouded haze
A ghostly audience
Receives my frail self
Upon the throne
A pact is forged
Twilight is absorbed
And thus they bestowed
Unto one such as me
And I drank of their knowledge
Now I have seen
All eventualities
And they all end in darkness
